Cílem práce je studovat pole hodnot matice po teoretické stránce a seznámit se se základní numerickou metodou výpočtu této množiny. K dispozici jsou otevřené matlabovské kódy ze softwarových balíků The Matrix Computation Toolbox a Chebfun.

Pole hodnot matice A je množina v komplexní rovině asociovaná s maticí A. Má své důležité místo v teorii matici, a to především ve zkoumání vlastností nenormální matic, konvergence iteračních metod aplikovaných na tyto matice, odhadování norem maticových funkcí atd. Tato množina souvisí s otázkou položenou Prof. Nickem Trefethenem, kde v komplexní rovině matice žije? Cílem práce je shrnout poznatky o poli hodnot matice a seznámit se se základní numerickou metodou jeho výpočtu.
Preliminary scope of work in English
The field of values of a matrix A is a set in the complex plane associated with A. It is important in matrix analysis, in particular, in investigating properties of nonnormal matrices, the convergence of iterative methods, the estimation of matrix function norms, etc. This set is related with the question posed by Prof. Nick Trefethen: Where in the complex plane does a matrix live? The goal is to summarize the theory about the field of values of a matrix and to study the basic numerical method for its computation.
