Preliminary scope of work in English
The aim of the bachalor thesis is to garther information about critically endangered species Dianthus arenarius subsp. bohemicus. Further the thesis should review studies on population dynamics of rare plant species with stress on usage of matrix models. This information allows us to identify not only trends in population development, but it can help us to understand factors responsible for these changes as well. In case of significant decline of population size we can learn which part of the life cycle was most affected and should be the target of conservation action. One of major factors responsible for changes in population dynamics is vegetation succesion in the localities. The thesis should thus include review of studies concerning impact of vegetation on plant population growth and survival.
