| Charakteristika tématu:
Ve své bakalářské práci se zabývám predátorskými cenami v dopravním sektoru, zvláště vymezením relevantního trhu, určením dominance na trhu a tím, jak se predátorské ceny detekují. Jádrem mojí práce je analýza případu STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. Tato společnost v roce 2007 vedla na trase Praha – Brno ostrý konkurenční boj proti firmě ASIANA, s.r.o., ve kterém byla Úřadem pro ochranu hospodářské soutěže shledána vinnou za aplikování predátorských cen za účelem vytlačení konkurenční společnosti z trhu a odsouzena k pokutě ve výši 5 154 000 Kč. Ve své práci přezkoumávám rozhodnutí Úřadu pro ochranu hospodářské soutěže, které je první svého druhu v České republice a jehož důsledky májí značný vliv na právě začínající liberalizaci železniční dopravy v ČR a nastávající konkurenční boje. Hypotézy: Relevantní trh autobusové dopravy na lince Praha – Brno v dané době obsahoval i železniční dopravu. STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. na daném relevatním trhu neměla dominantní postavení. Náklady na osobu byly vyšší než cena nejlevnějšího tarifu STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. Metodologie: K určení míry dominance firmy STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. na daném trhu použiji následující metody: • Test hypotetického monopolisty (SNIPP test), který testuje, zda má hypotetický monopolista takovou tržní sílu, aby při malém, ale znatelném zvýšení svých cen dosáhl zvýšení vlastních zisků. Data pro tento test získám ze spotřebitelského dotazníku. • Test křížové elasticity, který udává míru, jak se změní poptávané množství jednoho produktu, když se změní cena jiného produktu. • Na základě spotřebitelského dotazníku určení spotřebitelských preferencí . | Topic Characteristics:
The topic of my bachelor thesis is predatory pricing in transport sector. The main issues I intend to focus on are calculation of market share, determination of market dominance and the detection of the predatory prices itself. The core part of the thesis is the case study of a trial with STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. This company was competing with company ASIANA, s.r.o. in the bus transportation on the line between Prague and Brno. STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. was found guilty of applying predatory prices by the Office for the Protection of Competition, and convinced to pay penalty 5 154 000 CZK. In my thesis I’m dealing with the most controversial parts of the judgment, which is the first of its kind in the history of the Czech Republic, and which will have significant consequences on the upcoming competition surrounding the Czech railways resulting from the recent loss of their monopoly. Hypotheses: Relevant market of bus transportation between Prague and Brno also contained railway transportation in given period. STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. didn’t have a dominant market share. The costs per person were higher than the price of the cheapest rate of STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. Methodology: To determine the dominance of STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. in the relevant market I will use these methods: ● SNIPP test, which tests if hypothetical monopolist can profitably impose a small but significant not-transitory increase in prices which will lead to higher profits. The data for this test will be obtained from a consumer questionnaire. ● Cross Price Elasticity of Demand which measures the change of the demand for one product with a change in a price of second product. ● Obtain consumer preferences from consumer survey. From results of these tests I will be able to determine the structure of the market and the market share of STUDENT AGENCY, s.r.o. Outline: 1. Introduction 2.
