Cílem práce je popsat a analyzovat vývoj legislativních regulací a rozhodnutí Nejvyššího soudu Spojených států, která se týkají financování prezidentských předvolebních kampaní v USA. Na základě tohoto popisu se pak pokusím určit, proč se stále více kandidátů rozhoduje nepřijmout na financování svých kampaní veřejný způsob financování a namísto toho dávají přednost financování z vlastních zdrojů a pomocí třetích stran.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to describe and analyze the evolution of campaign finance law as formed both by the US Congress and the US Supreme Court. Using this analysis I will attempt to determine the reason why an increasing number of candidates decide to decline public funding and rather choose to finance their campaigns privately with help of third parties.
