Diplomová práce Časopis Čin v letech 1929 – 1939 se zabývá kulturně politickým časopisem Čin, který vycházel v Praze v meziválečném období. Tento levicově a demokraticky orientovaný týdeník, později čtrnáctideník, byl zaměřen na aktuální kulturní a veřejné otázky v rámci tehdejšího Československa. Cílem práce je poskytnout ucelený profil tohoto ve své době významného periodika. Práce se nejdříve věnuje vymezení vlastního pojmu časopis v rámci masových médií, dále popisuje charakteristiku mediální krajiny v období první i druhé republiky, přičemž se podrobněji zabývá tištěnými medii a s nimi spojenou problematikou. Součástí je také podkapitola o kulturní a politické situaci Československa ve 20. a 30. letech, pozornost je rovněž zaměřena i na zařazení časopisu Čin do dobové časopisecké struktury. Další části práce se již věnují periodiku samotnému, a to nejprve v období mezi lety 1929 – 1936, kdy časopis vedla Marie Majerová, a poté v době vedení Bohumila Přikryla, tedy v letech 1937 – 1939. Tyto samostatné kapitoly pak přinášejí informace o vydavateli časopisu Čin, stejnojmenném tiskovém a nakladatelském družstvu československých legionářů v Praze, a vzniku tohoto listu; dále také o obecné a formální charakteristice časopisu, o autorech, kteří do tohoto periodika přispívali, respektive o vedoucích redaktorech, redakci či nejčastěji publikujících přispěvatelích i mimoredakčních přispěvatelích, a rovněž o jeho programu a obsahu, jednotlivých rubrikách a zásadních tématech Činu, a to v obou zmíněných obdobích. Závěr práce je zaměřen na okolnosti zániku časopisu, tedy jeho úředního zastavení.
Preliminary scope of work in English
The master´s thesis Čin magazine in 1929 – 1939 deals with the cultural-political magazine Čin, which was issued in Prague in between the world wars. This left-wing and democratically orientated weekly, later a fortnightly, magazine focused on current cultural and public issues within former Czechoslovakia. The thesis aims to provide a thorough profile of what was an important and distinctive periodical in its time. Firstly, the thesis deals with outlining the notion of the magazine within the mass media, further on it describes the characteristics of the media landscape in the period of the first and second republic, where the printed media and their related area of problems are dealt with in detail. A subchapter on the cultural and political standing of Czechoslovakia in the 20s and 30s of the 20th century is also included, the focus is also on the position of the Čin magazine in the array of magazines of that time. The ensuing parts of the thesis already deal with the periodical itself, firstly in the period from 1929 to 1936, when the magazine was under the leadership of Marie Majerová, and secondly in the period of leadership of Bohumil Přikryl, that is from 1937 to 1939. These separate chapters inform about the publisher of the Čin magazine, the eponymous press and publishing cooperative of Czechoslovakian legionaries in Prague, and the origins of this paper, further on about the general and formal characteristics of the magazine, about the authors who contributed to this periodical as well as about the program and content, about the magazine´s sections and essential issues of Čin, in both above-mentioned periods. The conclusion of the thesis focuses on the circumstances of the magazine´s decline, that is of its official termination.
