Preliminary scope of work
The aim of the thesis is to assess different significant variables of pace and volume of innovations within EU and US key industries, comparing appropriate econometric techniques including various available variables outlined in the Methodology. Analyzing time span 2006-2010, the thesis’ primary goal is to devise the best set of explanatory variables and econometric technique as well as to examine and evaluate the availability and variety of suitable micro-data. The research is mainly based on OECD data on R&D expenditures, Eurostat data within Community Innovation Survey, World Bank data within Environment and Enterprise Performance Survey, as well as extensive literature overview and own contribution. The conclusion provides confirmation or rejection of the Hypotheses as well as suggestions on further suitable extension of analyzed topic and its practical use not only for private businesses but also recommendations towards governments’ policies.
