Cílem diplomové práce je shrnout literaturu k tématu, dále důkladně rozlišit jednotlivé typy Odpočívajícího Krista zejména v sochařské tvorbě pozdní gotiky a rané renesance (pomocí metody ikonografické analýzy) a přiblížit kulturně historický význam tohoto námětu.

Preliminary scope of work in English

The aim of the thesis is to summarize the literature on the theme, thoroughly differentiate between the individual types of Christ in distress, especially in the sculpture production of the late Gothic and early Renaissance styles (using the method of iconographic analysis) and to describe the cultural and historical value of this motive.
