| Hlavní osnovou práce je téma náboženského jazyka z pohledu religionistické reflexe. Práce rozebírá konkrétní náboženské promluvy, v tomto případě buddhistické mantry. Nastiňuje kontext vzniku manter ve védském náboženství a jejich následný vývoj na poli mahájánového a tantrického buddhismu. Zkoumá mantru jakožto součást buddhistické teorie (mantra jako součást textu) i buddhistické praxe (mantra jako součást rituálu). Cílem práce je odpovědět na otázku, zda-li je vůbec možné určit přesný význam jednotlivých manter a do jaké míry je lze přeložit z původního sanskrtu.
Detailní pozornost je věnována vrcholnému textu mahájánového buddhismu Sútře srdce a její závěrečné mantře gaté gaté páragaté párasamgaté bódhi sváhá. |
