Preliminary scope of work in English
The current thesis tests for the presence of choice judgment discrepancy and of inequality aversion among the population of the Republic of Moldova. This is done via a survey where 300 people from Chisinau, the capital city of Moldova, are being asked to provide answers to two types of questionnaires. The first type of questionnaires reflects choice, while the second type judgment; the answers provided are being compared and a final conclusion is being reached. There is also being tested whether people’s judgments can influence their choices as much as to lead to reversals in their preferences and thus to changes in their revealed choices. The hypothesis about people’s inequality aversion also contains an analysis of certain factors which could influence the level of inequality aversion exhibited by respondents. These factors are: age, education, income and gender; their influence is being measured via the Ordered Probit model from Stata.
