| Cílem této bakalářské práce je přeložit část úvodní kapitoly z knihy Jamese Twitchella The Living Dead: A Study of the Vampire in Romantic Literature (jedná se o podkapitoly The Vampire in Folklore, The Influence of Christianity a Other Influences), kterou roku 1981 vydalo nakladatelství Duke University Press v americkém Durhamu, a proces překladu teoreticky popsat. Práce obsahuje tři hlavní části: překlad výchozího textu, komentář k překladu a přílohy (ty zahrnují text originálu, dotazník použitý pro ověření odborných znalostí adresátů překladu a tabulku shrnující výsledky dotazníkového šetření). Komentář k překladu se skládá ze čtyř částí. V první části je provedena překladatelská analýza originálu. Druhá část popisuje komunikační situaci překladu a metodu překladu. Ve třetí části jsou řešeny konkrétní problémy, které při překladu nastaly. Část závěrečná se věnuje nezbytným posunům, ke kterým při překladu došlo.
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to translate a part of the first chapter from James Twitchell's The Living Dead: A Study of the Vampire in Romantic Literature (subchapters The Vampire in Folklore, The Influence of Christianity and Other Influences) published in Durham in 1981, and to describe the whole process. The thesis includes three parts: the translation of the source text, the commentary and attachments, which include the source text, a questionnaire used to assess specialized knowledge of recipients, and a chart summarizing its results. The commentary includes four parts. The first one contains a source text analysis. The second one describes the communication situation of the translation and the method of translation. Particular problems that arose during the translation are solved in the third part. The last part describes necessary shifts that occurred in the translation. |
