Preliminary scope of work

Tato práce se zabývá teoretickým i praktickým rozdělením Evropy na jednotlivé části s využitím geoinformačních systémů.
Hlavní náplní práce je za pomocí nástrojů programu ArcMap vymezit region Evropa a následně jej rozdělit na části. Důležitým zdrojem je rešerše literatury, která zjistila různé druhy dělení světadílu, a podkladová data společnosti ESRI. Hlavním kritériem, s jehož pomocí se Evropa rozdělila, byla celková rozloha světadílu a jednotlivých států. Právě na základě rozlohy se srovnávací analýzou prokázala, z geografického pohledu, vhodnost či nevhodnost označení jednotlivých částí světadílu.
Výsledkem práce jsou mapové výstupy, které ukazují rozdíly či podobnosti u jednotlivých dělení a použitého hlediska. Nově vzniklé mapy jsou konfrontovány a srovnávány s mapami původními.

Preliminary scope of work in English

This work focuses on theoretical and practical division of Europe into parts using GIS.
The main scope of this work is using the program ArcMap to define the region of Europe and then to divide it into parts. An important sources are background research of literature which found different types of dividing the continent, and the underlying data ESRI. Geographic distribution of map of Europe was made on the basis of identified types of division. The main criterion by which Europe is divided was the total area of the continent and individual countries. Just based on the area the correlation analysis showed the appropriateness or inappropriateness of labeling different parts of the continent, from the geographical point of view.
The result of the work are maps outputs that shows the differences and similarities in each division and used terms. The newly created maps are confronted and compared with original maps.
