EN 14997: Characterization of waste – Leaching behaviour test – Influence of pH on leaching with continuous pH control Articles devoted to mine tailings, their geochemistry, mineralogy, and leaching behaviour (including those related to the Kombat site, Namibia) (e.g., Journal of Geochemical Exploration, Environmental Monitoring and Assessment, etc.)
Preliminary scope of work
Preliminary scope of work in English
This MSc thesis will focus on application of laboratory leaching test with a special emphasis on pH-static test to determine (i) the pH-dependent stability of mine tailings from Kombat (Namibia), (ii) the leachability of contaminants (especially As, Cu, Pb, and Zn), (iii) the mineralogical transformation and (iv) the recycling potential of these materials.
