Preliminary scope of work
Poruchy funkce mitochondriálního komplexu I (NADH:ubichinon oxidoreduktáz) patří mezi biomarkery a rizikové faktory v rozvoji neurologických onemocnění včetně schizofrenie. Mezi dopady deficitu komplexu I patří mimo jiné oxidační stres vyvolaný produkcí kyslíkových radikálů v mitochondrii. V práci se zaměříme na roli komplexu I u pacientů a případnou terapii schizofrenie, například pomocí mírné chronické hypoxie.
Preliminary scope of work in English
Deficiency of mitochondrial complex I (NADH:ubiquinone oxidoreductases) is a biomarker and risk factor in the development of various neurological diseases, including schizophrenia. The effects of complex I deficiency include oxidative stress induced by mitochondrial oxygen radical production. In the thesis, we will focus on the role of complex I in schizophrenic patients and the possible treatment of schizophrenia, for example by mild chronic hypoxia.
