Azov je jednou z nejzáhadnějších a nejznámějších organizací v Evropě. Po ruské invazi na Ukrajinu se tato organizace stala známou ve všech koutech světa. Statečná obrana Mariupolu ukázala pravou tvář Azovu. Přesto je Azov stále málo probádaným a neznámým tématem. Dnes je to nejen vysoce kvalifikovaná bojová jednotka, ale také celé společenské a politické hnutí, které sdružuje desítky nevládních organizací a politických stran. Tato studie zkoumá Azov prostřednictvím dvou paralel: ideologické a strukturální. Ideologické chápání Azova sleduje jeho kořeny v ukrajinském nacionalismu a krajně pravicových hnutích Evropy jako spouštěcí mechanismus, který formoval pohled na hnutí Azov. Strukturální chápání se zaměřuje na hierarchickou organizaci, rozdělení rolí, evoluční a zdrojový charakter. Smíšený přístup ke studiu, kombinující kvalitativní analýzu výroků, symbolů a narativů v médiích s kvantitativní analýzou majetku a velikosti organizace, nabízí potenciál pro pochopení vlivu a postavení v ukrajinské a mezinárodní společnosti. V důsledku toho studie otevírá novou rovinu diskuse o vztahu mezi ideologií, militarismem a státní integrací.
Preliminary scope of work in English
Azov is one of the most mysterious and well-known organisations in Europe. After Russia's fullscale invasion of Ukraine, the organisation became known in all corners of the world. The brave defence of Mariupol showed the true face of Azov. Despite this, Azov is still an under-researched and obscure topic. Today, it is not only a highly skilled combat units, but also an entire social and political movement that unites dozens of NGOs and political parties. This study examines Azov through two parallels: ideological and structural. An ideological understanding of Azov traces its roots to Ukrainian nationalism and far-right movements of Europe, as the trigger that shaped the Azov movement's view. The structural understanding focuses on the hierarchical organisation, distribution of roles, evolutionary and resource character. The mixed approach to the study, combining qualitative analysis of statements, symbols and narratives in the media with quantitative analysis of assets and size of the organisation, offers the potential to understand the influence and position in Ukrainian and international society. As a result, the study opens up a new level of discussion on the relationship between ideology, militarism and state integration.
