Preliminary scope of work
Preliminary scope of work in English
Cell organelles are compartments of cells surrounded by a membrane or membranes. It has long been known that each organelle has its own specific shape and specific arrangement of membrane(s). With the development of microscopic methods, it has been found that many organelles form extensive membrane tubular formations - membrane extensions. To date, these very thin formations are not easy to visualize and very little is known about the function of these membrane tubular structures. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to use available literature to describe the membrane extensions of plant cell organelles and to summarize the current knowledge that could explain the origin and function of these structures.
