Guidelines
The goal of the thesis is to create a system capable of distinguishing light sources in HDR environment maps and determining their effect on individual pixels. The system will take both indoor and outdoor HDR environment maps as input, and will output a segmented version of said map. Every segment will contain a light source and pixels whose emissive properties are mainly due to the light source.

Visualizations of pixels of HDR environment maps in the RGB space strongly suggest that visible pixel clusters correspond to the desired output segments. Therefore, the main focus of the thesis will be on existing 3D clustering algorithms and their utilization.
