Guidelines

Ve své diplomové práci se budu věnovat otázce zvířat v biblickém textu, konkrétně v prvních jedenácti kapitolách knihy Genesis. Z religionistického hlediska se budu snažit především o dvě věci. Zaprvé o rozbor konkrétních částí analyzovaného textu pomocí metod na pomezí klasické biblistiky a (strukturalismem ovlivněné) antropologie náboženství (Mary Douglas, Edmund Leach). Zadruhé o analýzu biblické oběti a jejích současných teorií (mj. Jonathan Klawans, Ken Stone, Yvonne Sherwood, Nancy Jay). Vzhledem k tomu, že rozbor textů podle mého ukazuje na paralely se strukturou oběti v knize Levitikus, bude následná analýza prováděna právě na průsečíku těchto přístupů. Zároveň bude celá práce inspirovaná také současným antropologickým směrem tzv. “ontologického obratu“ (Eduardo Viveiros de Castro, Martin Holbraad, Philippe Descola) s jeho snahou o reflexivitu, zaměřením na vynalézání nových nástrojů a tematizováním otázky překladu. Jedním z příkladů takovéto reflexivity a kritického překladu může být už samotný pojem zvířete, který je součástí názvu práce (a je pro její srozumitelnost nezbytný), ale který zároveň bude analyzován jakožto neadekvátní. Otázky, které si tato práce klade, by se tedy snad adekvátněji dala shrnout: jak text Genesis 1-11 myslí skrze jiné než lidské formy života, jak toto myšlení nejlépe přeložit do našeho pojmového aparátu a jak nám k tomu může pomoci zabývat se konceptem oběti.
