Guidelines |
The goal of the thesis is to develop a tool for analyzing differences in alternative translations of the same source text. The tool should be used for analyzing systematic differences in machine translation, standard human translation and high-quality human translation. In which aspects are these translations systematically different? The tool should report various metrics, including language model scores and frequency of part-of-speech tags, passive verbs etc. and possibly other syntactic features. There may be also metrics which compare each translation with the source text. All metrics should be sorted according to their relevance and reported at least on the level of the whole dataset, individual documents and possibly also paragraphs or sentences where it makes sense. |
