Guidelines
In this thesis, I combine philosophy, and more specifically aesthetics, with developmental psychology, to create a detailed overview of what an aesthetic perception is and how it develops during the early years of our lives.
Moreover, through my writing and research, I would like to underline the importance aesthetics and art have in making our lives fulfilled and the extent to which they play a role in forming the personality, character, and skill set of a person while growing up. In so doing, I will dig deeper into the topics of pedagogy and primary education in my country of origin – Slovakia. In this part, I explain how inclusion and implementing more creative and artistic approaches in education could help with tackling some of the problems our educational system is currently facing. Authors supporting my contemplative and theoretical piece of writing will include Jean Piaget, Edward Bullough etc.
Therefore, my thesis will consist of three main parts, one focused on the philosophy of aesthetics, the second on developmental psychology, and the last on education and a possible practical application of this knowledge.
