Preliminary scope of work
Proposed topic:
The effects of the US-China trade war on electronic supply chain
Topic characteristic:
In my work, I am going to look at the impact of the trade war between the United States and China on
electronic supply chain using networking analysis. How electronic chains such as Apple are operating
right now. I am going to look at what economic problems are in both the United States and China. What
political relationship do these two countries have right now? I will look closer at the companies affected
the most by the trade war. I will use data of Inter-Country Input-output from the OCED(the Organisation
for Economic Co-operation and Development). The impact of the US-China relationship on the rest of
the world. The changes in geographical distribution and the effect of the trade war on international trade
will be presented as well. In the end, I will look at the potential replacement of China with Vietnam.

Hypotheses:
America will replace China with Vietnam as an alternative supply of labor force.
The relationship between the US-China will become less important.
The tension between the United States and China leads to a decrease in the supply chain of electronics
in the whole world.

Methodology:
In the first part of my work, I will apply more theoretical and historical data to introduce the progression of the relationship between the United States. I will mention briefly the effect of Covid 19 on the supply chain. In order to look deeper into the relationship between the United States and China, I will use networking analysis. Networking analysis is a visual representation of interconnections among actors, in our case two countries, and analyzing the social structure of these relations. Through the centrality measures, I will see if the relationship between China and the US will be less or more important. It can also be expressed numerically. The changes in electronics chain supply will show how it affects the economies of China and the United States independently.
