Guidelines |
Student se nejprve seznámí s konstrukcemi a základními vlastnostmi direktních a inverzních limit v kategorích modulů, např. s pomocí relevantních kapitol monografie [2].
First, the student will learn the constructions and fundamental properties of direct and inverse limits in module categories, using, e.g., the relevant chapters of the monograph [2]. Then he will concentrate on characterizations of inverse limits of particular forms, and on an investigation of closure properties of the classes varprojlim C in dependence on the properties of the underlying class of modules C. Here, the recent results obtained in the preprint [3] for the dual setting of direct limits may serve as guidelines. The student will also study the particular case of inverse limits of injective modules, notably the open problems formulated for this setting in the paper [1]. |

Preliminary scope of work |
Preliminary scope of work in English |
Unlike direct limits, the inverse limits of modules are usually studied only in various particular settings related, e.g., to completions and Mittag-Leffler conditions.
The aim of this diploma thesis is twofold: 1. to develop a dual theory to the one concerning direct limits of classes of modules that has recently appeared in the preprint [3], and 2. to answer some of the open problems concerning the particular case of inverse limits of injective modules, coming from the paper [1]. |
