Preliminary scope of work
Preliminary scope of work in English
The goal of this study is to cover the topic of negative thoughts of mothers during the early life period of their child. The theoretical part will focus on the basic principles of researching this phenomenon and other related topics (eq. negative thoughts as an indicator of postnatal depression, anxiety, psychosis or OCD, changes of the social perception of motherhood and mental health, relationship between the concepts of ideal mother and good enough mother). The research part will explore how mothers themselves relate to their negative thoughts. Semi-structured interviews processed by interpretative phenomenological analysis were chosen as the method. The overall goal is to describe and reach better understanding of mothers that experienced this phenomenon.
