Preliminary scope of work
Bakalářská práce bude řešerší dostupné literatury věnující se schopnosti self-assessmentu a mutual-assessmentu u šupinatých plazů. Schopnost sebehodnocení (tzv. assessment) byla u šupinatých plazů zaznamenána v souvislosti s ritualizací soubojů. Práce bude mít za cíl shrnout jednotlivé predikce pro zařazení do self vs mutual assessment a potenciální scénář evoluce tohoto chování. Dále vypracovat seznam druhů šupinatých plazů, u kterých byla tato schopnost reportována a kriticky jej zhodnotit.
Preliminary scope of work in English
The bachelor thesis will address the available literature on the ability of self- and mutual-assessment in squamate reptiles. The evidence of assessment ability was demonstrated in several squamate reptiles engaged in ritualized combats. The bachelor thesis will summarize the predictions of self vs mutual assessment categorization and the possible evolutionary scenario of this behaviour. A list of squamate reptile species for which this ability has been reported will be prepared and critically evaluated.
