Preliminary scope of work

Vznik francouzského hnutí za osvobození žen Mouvement de libération des femmes (MLF) je spjat se spory o určení přesného momentu zrodu. Hnutí vznikalo na počátku sedmdesátých let dvacátého století činností několika menších uskupení, jejichž členky vnímaly milník založení MLF protichůdně již v tehdejší době a rozepře o jeho vznik jsou přítomny až do současnosti. Práce se zabývá počátky existence MLF, přičemž hlavním předmětem zkoumání je působení jedné z nejvýznamnějších zakládajících skupin, Féminin, Masculin, Avenir (FMA), respektive jejích čtyřech členek Anne Zelensky, Jacqueline Feldman, Emmanuèle de Lesseps a Christine Delphy. Aktivita tohoto uskupení je zkoumána při dvanácti vybraných klíčových událostech z období mezi lety 1970–1971, které přispěly ke vzniku MLF a v počátcích jeho existence utvářely jeho podobu. Na základě této analýzy se práce snaží určit míru vlivu FMA při vzniku a postupném utváření Mouvement de libération des femmes a přispět tak do debaty o problematice původu hnutí. Mimo to text nabízí vhled do vývoje feminismu s důrazem na jeho druhou vlnu. Práce zároveň mapuje existenci vybrané skupiny Féminin, Masculin, Avenir včetně jejího vzniku v roce 1967 a činnosti při květnové revoluci ve Francii v roce 1968, jež rozpoutala společenské změny nejen v oblasti emancipace žen.

Preliminary scope of work in English

The emergence of the French Women’s Liberation Movement (MLF) is linked with disagreements about determining the exact moment of its origin. The movement was being formed in the beginning of the 1970’s by the activity of several smaller groups. The members of these groups argued about the exact moment of the MLF origin already back then and these disagreements are still present today. This thesis deals with the beginnings of MLF and the main research subject is the influence of one of the founding groups, Féminin, Masculin, Avenir (FMA), particularly the influence of its four members – Anne Zelensky, Jacqueline Feldman, Emmanuèle de Lesseps and Christine Delphy. The activity of this group is being examined in twelve selected key events from the period between 1970-1971, that contributed to the formation of MLF and shaped its form. Based on this analysis, the thesis seeks to determine the degree of influence of the FMA in the establishement and gradual formation of the Mouvement de libération des femmes and thus contribute to the debate on the issue of the origin of the movement. Apart from that, the text offers an insight into the development of feminism with an emphasis on its second wave. The thesis is also concerned with the existence of the chosen Féminin, Masculin, Avenir group, including its establishment in 1967 and its activities during the 1968 revolution in France, which caused societal changes not only in the field of women’s emancipation.
