Preliminary scope of work
Cílem této práce je analýza role a rozsahu vlivu maloměstského prostředí na osobnost a činy postav v románu Harper Lee Jako zabít ptáčka. Práce se pokouší popsat třídní a rasové poměry amerického jihu a také aspekty provinčního stylu života jižních států USA během Americké hospodářské krize. Kromě toho se tato práce také pokusí poskytnout vhled do vnímání jižanské spravedlnosti a také do vlivu hluboce zakořeněným předsudků a stereotypů na individuální vnímání života a jeho hodnot.
Preliminary scope of work in English
The aim of this thesis is to examine the role and the extent of influence of the small town environment on the characters'personalities and their actions in the novel To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. The thesis attempts to address the racial and class relations of the American South, and the aspects of southern provincial life during the Depression Era. Moreover, this work seeks to provide an insight into the southern perception of justice, and its deep rooted prejudices and stereotypes and their influence on the individuals' perception of life and its values.
