Preliminary scope of work
Práce zkoumá postavení příslušníků klanů prezidentů Uzbekistánu a Kazachstánu, zejména pokrevních příbuzných. Popisuje, jakou roli hrají v politických a ekonomických systémech svých zemí, a jaké významné faktory k tomu vedly, a to v kontextu specifik konkrétních režimů.
Preliminary scope of work in English
The thesis deals with the topic of the status and the development of presidential political clans in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, especially the closest relatives. Which roles have they played in various sectors of the state and within the clan as such? Which factors affected their positions? How do their perspectives for the future look like?
The theoretical concepts of neo-patrimonialism and patronalism within clan-based societies were primarily used for the analysis.
A brief excursion to the most recent history of both states is also a part of the thesis.
