Preliminary scope of work

Bakalářská práce s názvem „Politiky genderové rovnosti ve Finsku v letech 2000-2015“ si klade za cíl prozkoumat kroky vývoje genderově vnímavého sociálního státu ve Finsku na vybraném časovém úseku. Popisuje proto opatření, která finská vláda zavedla v různých oblastech veřejného a soukromého života v prvních patnácti letech 21. století, a zaznamenává postupné prohlubování již existujících politik genderové rovnosti. Práce je rozdělena do dvou rozsáhlých kapitol. V první z nich je čtenář seznámen s konceptem gender equality policies a fungováním takových opatření na příkladu nástrojů Evropské unie, a také s tzv. severským modelem blahobytu. Dále je v práci tento koncept aplikován již na konkrétní příklad Finska. Pozornost je věnována pokusům o řešení genderové otázky zejména v politickém rozhodovacím procesu, na trhu práce, ve vzdělávacích insitucích a v rodině. Práce se dotýká i pokusů vyřešit problémy násilí a prostituce. Samostatná podkapitola popisuje také finský státní feminismus a mašinérii, která má na starosti řešení genderové otázky a jeho monitoring. V práci můžeme vidět klíčové priority vývoje finských GEP, což jsou kupříkladu zdokonalení mechanismu rodičovské dovolené, zmírnění rozdílů průměrných mezd žen a mužů, posílení ženské reprezentaci v místní správě apod.

Preliminary scope of work in English

The bachelor thesis called „Gender equality policies in Finland in 2000-2015“ aims to explore the steps of developing a gender-sensitive welfare state in Finland over the selected time period. It therefore describes the measures implemented by Finnish government in various areas of public and private life in the first fifteen years of the 21st century and notes the gradual deepening of already existing gender equality policies. The thesis is divided into two large chapters. In the first chapter, the reader becomes familiar with the concept of gender equality policies and their functioning on the example of the instruments of the European Union, as well as with the so-called Nordic welfare model, which is mainly associated with the Scandinavian states. Afterwards, the concept is applied to the specific example of Finland. Attention is paid to the attempts to solve gender issues primarily in the political decision-making, on the labor market, in educational institutions, and in the families. The problems of violence and prostitution are also mentioned in the thesis. One part of the chapter also describes Finnish state feminism and the machinery that is responsible for solving gender issues and its monitoring. In this thesis we can see key priorities of the development of Finnish GEPs, such as the improvement of the parental leave mechanism, the moderation of gender pay gap, the improvement of women’s representation in local governments, and so on.
