Guidelines

Tato bakalářská práce je věnována osobnosti anglické královny Alžběty I. Tudorovny (1558-1603). Primárním cílem však nebude Alžbětina politická kariéra, ale její osobní život. Autor se v první části pokusí analyzovat královniny motivace, které vedly k tomu, že se nikdy neprovdala a nezaložila rodinu. V dalších částech práce bude analyzován královnin komplikovaný vztah s muži. Na příkladu třech vybraných oblíbenců (Robert Dudley, Walter Raleigh a Robert Devereux) bude ukázáno, jak se proměnila královnina osobnost. Osobní život královny ale také ovlivnil i její politické smýšlení. Proto kromě samotného vztahu k jednotlivým mužům bude zkoumán i jeho vliv na královninu domácí i zahraniční politiku. Na závěr bude stručná analýza věnovaná dalším Alžbětiným nápadníkům, kteří si ji chtěli vzít za manželku.

Preliminary scope of work in English

This bachelor thesis is dedicated to the personality of English queen Elizabeth I. Tudor (1558-1603). The primary goal is not an analysis of Elizabeth᾽s political career, but the analysis of her “personal life”. In the first part, the author tries to analyse the queen᾽s motivation, which has led her to neither having ever married nor establishing a family. In other parts of the thesis, the queen᾽s complicated relationship with men will be analysed. An example of three chosen favourites (Robert Dudley, Walter Raleigh and Robert Devereux) will show how the Queen᾽s personality has transformed. But the personal life of the queen also influenced her political thinking. Therefore, apart from the relationships with individual men, their influence on the queen᾽s domestic and foreign politics will also be examined. Finally, a brief analysis will be given to the other Elizabeth suitors who wanted to marry her.
