Guidelines

Povídky a romány Michela Fabera (nar. 1960) lze nahlížet jako systematickou literární výpověď o dialogu s kulturní odlišností. Diplomová práce zkoumá, jaký náhled dialogu Faber čtenářům prostředkuje, a jak lze dialogu ve Faberově díle porozumět v perspektivě teoretiků postmoderní společnosti (konkrétně v konfrontaci s etikou autenticity u Charlese Taylora, etikou plurality kultur u Terryho Eagletona a pojetím vztahu kultury a náboženství u Oliviera Roye).

Preliminary scope of work in English

Michel Faber's texts can be seen as a systematic literary portrait of a dialogue with The Other, culturally different partner. The thesis examines the dialogue Faber conveys to his readers and also finds understaning of the dialogue in the perspective of theoreticians of postmodern society (in confrontation with the etics of autenticity by Charles Taylor, etics of cultural plurality of Terry Eagleton and in confrontation with the Olivier Roy's approach to the relationship between culture and religion).
