Preliminary scope of work
Preliminary scope of work in English
The scope of the thesis is to analyse the dynamical systems approach in the context of General Relativity, with particular emphasis on cosmological applications. By recasting Einstein's field equations in the form of an autonomous dynamical system it is possible to perform a global analysis of the whole space of solutions, including their stability in the asymptotic limits. The thesis will focus first of all on reviewing known models in order to provide a landscape of the existing literature and to present the method in a comprehensive way. Moreover, the work will possibily include original results regarding recent models describing the effects of dark matter and dark energy in low-symmetry spacetimes.
