| Práce bude postavena na teorii boje proti terorismu a protiteroristických operací a mezinárodní spolupráce, společně s protiteroristickými praktikami a politikou. Základem práce bude analýza změn v americko-saudské protiteroristické spolupráci. Využívána bude především metoda diskurzivní analýzy založená na dostupné odborné literatuře a dostupných zdrojů z prostředí vlády Spojených států, společně s využitím komparativní analýzy současných a minulých praktik boje proti terorismu v regionu. Očekávaným výsledkem bude pohled na evoluci spolupráce mezi Spojenými Státy a Saúdskou Arábií a analýza současné formy této spolupráce. |

| Hlavním úkolem práce bude analyzovat změny v americko-saudské protiteroristické spolupráci od roku 2001, kdy tato spolupráce nabyla na významu po útocích z 11. září, až do současnosti v souvislosti s vzestupem tzv. Islámského státu v Iráku a Levantě. Jelikož se charakter teroristické hrozby v regionu Blízkého východu a severní Afriky neustále proměnuje, mění se také protiteroristické taktiky a politiky a způsob spolupráce mezi Spojenými státy a Saúdskou Arábií. Využití diskurzní analýzy společně s komparativní analýzou současných i minulých postupů na poli boje s terorismem by mělo vyústit v detailní obraz evoluce těchto protiteroristických praktiky a politik, společně se současnou podobou spolupráce mezi Spojenými státy a Saúdskou Arábií na poli boje s terorismem a nepřátelskými povstaleckými skupinami. |

| The main objective of this thesis will be to analyze the changes in the US-Saudi counterterrorism cooperation since 2001, when it intensified after the 9/11 attacks, up to recent events and the rise of the so-called Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant. Since the character of the terrorist threat in the region of Middle East and North Africa constantly changes, so does the counterterrorism tactics and policies and the cooperation between the United States and Saudi Arabia. Using the discourse analysis together with the comparative analysis of recent and past counterterrorism practices should result in rendering a detailed picture of the evolution of these counterterrorism policies and practices together with the current state of the cooperation between the United States and Saudi Arabia in the field of counterterrorism and counterinsurgency. |
