Preliminary scope of work in English

Abstract
Calls to prayer in the New Testament are the topic of this bachelor thesis. The references to the prayer as an answer of a man on God's calling can be found in almost all books of the New Testament. Prayer accompanies the teachings of Jesus and his life with his disciples and it is mentioned both in the birth of the early Church and in its everyday life till the end of the first century. The thesis is concentrated on the call to prayer in various situations of the apostles and early church and notes historical, literary and situational contexts. On this basis, the thesis aims also to show relationship and inspiration for the spiritual life of contemporary Christian. Individual calls are located in the Synoptic Gospels, letters from Paul and Pauline file and catholic letters. The subjects of the prayers are supplication, thanksgiving, intercession and celebration, readers are encouraged to the perseverance, search, vigilance and prayer for enemies and for each other. After the introduction, the work is divided by themes into seven chapters, ending with a short summary. In the final part of the thesis, several themes are chosen to outline the overlap into spiritual life.
