Preliminary scope of work
Práce analyzuje myšlení významného matematika, kosmologa a posláním katolického kněze George Lemaîtra. Dané vzorce myšlení jsou na základě pramenů a odborné literatury představeny, blíže prokresleny a dále spojeny i porovnány s obecnějšími evropskými idejemi. Zvláštní důraz je při tom kladen na náboženské konotace oněch myšlenkových výkonů a idejí – ty jsou navíc uvedeny s ohledem na vývoj Lemaîtrova myšlení. Celý kontext je poté rozšířen o vhledy do druhého života Lemaîtrova myšlení a nakládání s obrazem jeho osoby, z čehož vyplývají obecné opakující se tendence, vážící se na spodní proudy evropského myšlení z hlediska vnímání vědy, náboženské víry, církve, jazyka či umění. Prostor je též věnován ohlasům nejvyšších církevních představitelů na Lemaîtrovu práci a z toho plynoucí ambivalenci.
Preliminary scope of work in English
The thesis analyzes the thinking of a prominent mathematician, cosmologist and Catholic priest Georges Lemaître. On the basis of sources and scholar literature, these patterns of thought are presented, illustrated in more detail, and further linked and compared with more general European ideas. Particular emphasis is placed on the religious connotations of those thought performances and ideas - these are also mentioned with regard to the development of Lemaître's thinking. Moreover, the whole context is expanded to include insights into the second life of Lemaître's thinking and the treatment of his person's image, which implies general recurrent tendencies linked to the deeper streams of European thought in terms of perception of science, religious belief, church, language or art. The space is also dedicated to the responses of the highest church leaders to Lemaître's work and the resulting ambivalence.
