Preliminary scope of work |
Výběr a příprava materiálů bude součástí práce. |
Preliminary scope of work in English |
Magnetically ordered uranium compounds attract well deserved attention for several decades, yet several key question remains unanswered and new ones emerge with the extension of theory and instrumental capabilities. Recently, a group of several uranium itinerant ferromagnets become one of the model systems for an investigation of so called 'quantum phase transitions', a zero temperature phase transition driven by quantum fluctuations, often smeared out to finite temperatures and reflecting itself as unusual or exotic behaviour of matter.
The proposed work will be based on the detail research of the phase diagram of selected uranium compounds on the verge of ferromagnetic ordering with the emphasis on the investigation of the phase transitions (both classical and quantum, if present), critical phenomena and the echoing of magnetic order in paramagnetic state. The selection and preparation of materials will be a part of the thesis. |
