Preliminary scope of work in English
To explore the relationship between soft tissues (i.e. muscles and fat components), body mass and bone by using 3D analysis. This could be useful in both bioarcheological and forensic contexts. Steps to achieve this aim: (1) To grasp background literature concepts (i.e. body mass estimation methods, researches on the relationship between various body components, methods used to analyze tomographic material); (2) to perform a 3D and statistical analysis on different samples of recent modern humans with known sex, height, weight at death and possibly data on activity; (3) to participate on international meetings and to produce scientific articles along the advancement of the research.
