Guidelines |

Preliminary scope of work |
Požadované veličiny navíc často nejsou získány přímo, ale pouze skrze dodatečnou interpolaci a renormalizaci získaného diskrétního pseudokontinua, například s pomocí metody Stieltjes imaging. Cílem navrhované práce je studovat numerické vlastnosti tohoto typu metod v kombinaci s různými typy a kvalitami použitých bází. |
Preliminary scope of work in English |
Numerical computation of phase shifts, resonance widths and other quantities relevant in quantum scattering theory depends strongly on the quality of the representation of continuum. In study of real polyatomic systems, however, most of available methods rely on the description of continuum in square-integrable (usually Gaussian) basis. It allows to utilize efficient quantum chemistry software developed for bound states description, however, the representation of the particle in continuum is poor. Moreover, the desired quantities are usually not available directly but only through additional interpolation and renormalization of the discrete pseudo-continuum. The method of Stieltjes imaging, based on moment theory, is often used for this purpose. The goal of the proposed project is to study numerical properties of this kind of approach in combination with different types and qualities of the basis sets. |
