Guidelines
The task of this diploma thesis is to implement a robust algorithm for light transport simulation in participating media. The goal of the algorithm is to enable rendering of media with highly varying optical properties, such as the optical density, albedo, or scattering anisotropy. To achieve the robustness, combine the existing volumetric radiance estimators using multiple importance sampling. The resulting algorithm should be thoroughly tested and compared to the existing approaches.
