Preliminary scope of work
Cílem této práce je prokázat vliv gregoriánského chorálu na skladatele soudobé vážné hudby. Zaměřím se na duchovní tvorbu dvou význačných skladatelů – Arvo Pärta a Petra Ebena. Oba jsou silně duchovně založeni a vycházejí z křesťanské spirituality, každý však z rozdílných tradic – Arvo Pärt z pravoslavné, kdežto Petr Eben z katolické. Oba pocházejí z postkomunistických zemí, ale vycházejí z odlišných hudebních tradic a každý z nich má zcela jiný hudební jazyk. Stručně porovnám kompoziční styly a na několika skladbách doložím rozdílnost inspirace gregoriánským chorálem u každého ze skladatelů.
Preliminary scope of work in English
The aim of this thesis is to demonstrate the influence of Gregorian chant on contemporary classical music composers. I will focus on sacred works of two notable composers – Arvo Pärt and Petr Eben. Both of them are strongly rooted in christian spirituality, Arvo Part being Eastern orthodox and Petr Eben being Roman catholic. They both come from post-communist countries, but they come from different musical traditions and their musical languages are very different. I will also briefly discuss their composition styles in order to document how deeply and differently was each of them influenced by Gregorian chant.
