Guidelines |

Preliminary scope of work |
Preliminary scope of work in English |
Quantum dot with local Coulomb repulsion attached to superconducting leads has been attracting interest of both theorists and experimentalists due to the observed and
not yet fully understood transition in the super-current flowing through the dot. Most of the existing reliable approaches are based on numerical simulations. A consistent microscopic explanation of the so-called 0-pi transition beyond a mean-field solution is missing. One can develop a many-body perturbation theory based on Feynman diagrammatic technique that allows one to identify the dominant contributions that may cause the transition in the Josephson current. The objective of the diploma thesis is to use the diagrammatic expansion beyond the mean field both in the non-degenerate ground state (0 phase) as well as in the degenerate state (pi phase). The role and behavior of the Andreev bound states in the gap of the superconductor will analyzed within the diagrammatic expansion in particular in the degenerate ground state. |
