| Aspekty zobecněné geometrie se objevují v matematických i fyzikálních pracích od konce 80. let. Jako matematická teorie byla zformulovaná Hitchinem (a rozvinuta jeho studenty poměrně nedávno). V současnosti je velká pozornost věnována aplikacím v teorii pole a strunách. Pomocí zobecněné metriky, která v sobě kombinuje Riemannovu metriku a Kalb-Ramondovo pole známého z teorie strun, lze s pomocí poměrně komplikovaného matematického aparátu skonstruovat akci, která kromě Eintein-Hilberova členu obsahuje kvadrát diferenciálu Kalb-Ramondova pole a která souhlasí s s bosonovou částí akce supergravitace. Cílem práce je přehledné a pokud možno jednoduché odvození této akce v rámci zobecněné geometrie. |
