Preliminary scope of work

Ve své práci vycházíme z problémů, které ve většině případů přivádějí mnohé lidi k tomu, aby se uchýlili k reprodukční medicíně, a které všeobecně označujeme jako problémy s neplodností.Jenže při některých technikách reprodukční medicíny dochází až k 80% ztrátám lidských embryí. V povědomí mnoha lidí je lidské embryo chápáno jenom jako shluk buněk. Jenže, jde skutečně jenom o shluk buněk nebo již jde o člověka v počáteční fázi lidského vývoje? Pokud by již šlo o člověka, šlo by již také o lidskou osobu, se kterou jsou v naší západní kultuře spojená práva, především právo na život? Mohli bychom pak s čistým svědomím říci, že v případě některých technik reprodukční medicíny jednám eticky?
Svou práci jsme rozděli do šesti kapitol. V první a druhé kapitole se krátce seznámíme s problematikou neplodnosti, s technikami reprodukční medicíny, s vývojem lidského embrya a s manipulací s embryí v průběhu některých technik. Ve třetí kapitole představíme dva hlavní etické modely v naší kulturní oblasti, které mají odlišný pohled na statut lidského embrya. Ve čtvrté kapitole se podíváme, jak k otázce počátku lidského života a k reprodukční medicíně přistupují některé jiné kultury. V páté kapitole se budeme zabývat otázkou lidské osoby. V šesté kapitole budeme zkoumat, zda již také lidské embryo může být považováno nejen za člověka, ale také za osobu s právy, která osobě náleží. V případě embrya jde o právo ochranu a na život.

Preliminary scope of work in English

In this work we take into account the issues, which in most cases lead many people to resort to the reproductive medicine, which generally is referred to as the infertility problems. But in some techniques, the reproductive medicine loses up to 80% of human embryos. In the minds of many people, the human embryo is seen only a cluster of cells. However, is it really just a cluster of cells, or is it already a person at an early stage of development? As far as one is already man, is he now also the human being, of whom are in our Western cultur related rights, especially the right to life? Could we then say with a clear consistence that with these techniques we are acting ethicaly?
We dividend our work into six chapters. In the first and second chapter, we will be briefly acquainted with the issues of infertility, of the reproductive medicine techniques, with the development of the human embryo and with handling of the embryos in the course of these techniques. In the third chapter, we will present the two major ethical models in our cultural area that have a different point of view on the status of the human embryo. In the fourth chapter, we will look at how to the question of the biginning of human life and of the reproductive medicine are accessing some other cultures. In the fifth chapter, we deal with the question of the human person. In the sixth chapter, we examine whether the human embryo can alredy be seen not only as a human being but also as a person with the rights, which to the person belongs. In the case of an embryo, it is connected with the right to life.
