Preliminary scope of work

Tato disertační práce se zabývá dekoracemi barokního divadla na území České republiky v 18. století a zpracováním zejména jejich návrhů v návaznosti na šlechtické rody. Časový rozsah je vymezen působením rodiny Galli Bibienů až po tvorbu Josefa Platzera. Dekorace zámeckého divadla jsou uvedeny na pozadí rakouských a italských vlivů, které přímo ovlivňovaly české prostředí a vzájemnou provázanost s dalšími barokními divadly v evropských městech.
Část práce je věnovaná ve stručnosti historii divadla a přehledu vybraných zámeckých divadel na našem území. Hlavní důraz je pak kladen zejména na představení dochovaných návrhu, ať již kresebných či reprodukovaných prostřednictvím grafických listů stejně jako seznámení s nově objevenými kresbami a určení jejich autorství. Vedle sebe se setkáváme s odlišnými autory a jejich výtvarnými kvalitami a jejich studiem se hledá odpověď na otázku, zda je možné hovořit o české jevištní tvorbě anebo se jednalo o uplatňování vídeňských a italských vzorů na českém území čili by se mělo používat označení středoevropské jevištní výtvarnictví.

Preliminary scope of work in English

This Ph.D. thesis deals with scenic designs and decorations of Baroque theatre in the 18th century in the Czech Republic. The paper presents the development of theatre based on preserved decorations and scenic designs and tries to find the answer about scenic painting in Bohemia. The thesis focused mainly on scenic designs with connection to the aristocratic families. Timeline is defined by the work of Galli Bibiena´s family and the work of Josef Platzer. The scenic decorations are presented on the background of Austrian and Italian influences, that directly affected Czech culture and mutual connection with another baroque theatre in the European cities.
A part of the thesis is devoted to the history of theatre in short and the list of selected theatres in castles in the Czech Republic. The main emphasis is put on the presentation of surviving scenic designs as well as newly found and yet unpublished drawings and graphics, their authorship, dating, and iconographic analysis. This lets us meet different authors with their fine quality. Through the study of them, we are looking for the answer to the question, it is possible to talk about Czech scenic painting or about the using Austrian and Italian pattern in our territory.
