Preliminary scope of work

Bakalářská práce „Free Hugs – Sociologická interpretace“ podává výklad fenoménu tzv. Free Hugs, nabízení objetí cizím lidem na ulici. Základní otázkou, stojící na počátku práce byl následující problém: Co se děje ve společnosti, pokud jsou lidé ochotni nabízet objetí na ulici neznámým lidem? Jaký tlak na tyto lidi působí? Co je příčinou tohoto tlaku? Práce se snaží interpretovat ty charakteristiky moderní společnosti, které nejpodstatněji ovlivňují atmosféru, která obyčejné lidi nutí vyrobit si svou ceduli s nápisem Free Hugs a vyrazit do ulic.

Preliminary scope of work in English

Bachelor thesis “Free Hugs – A sociological interpretation” gives an interpretation of the phenomenon called Free Hugs – offering hugs to strangers on the street. The basic question behind the early work was the following problem: What happens in a society, where people are willing to offer hugs to strangers in the street? What kind of pressure operate on people? What is causing this pressure? The goal of the work is to interpret the characteristics of modern society, which most importantly affect the atmosphere that makes ordinary people create their sign saying “Free Hugs” and go into the streets.
