Preliminary scope of work

Cílem diplomové práce „Role českých veřejnoprávních médií v diskurzu důchodové reformy“ bude kritická reflexe významu České televize a Českého rozhlasu v rámci debaty o změnách v důchodovém systému České republiky. Hlavní metodou, která bude v práci použita, je diskurzivní analýza, která zahrnuje kvalitativní i kvantitativní analýzu mediálních výstupů, rozhovory a zúčastněné pozorování.
Výzkum bude zaměřen na to, v jakých kontextech debata o důchodové reformě probíhá a jak je prezentována v českých veřejnoprávních médiích. Vzhledem k předmětu výzkumu budou využity teoretické koncepty z oblasti veřejné politiky, sociální politiky, masové komunikace a diskurzivní analýzy. Budou shrnuty v teoretické části. Praktická část práce se bude zabývat institucionálním vývojem důchodové reformy v ČR, její podobou v politickém, odborném (českém a mezinárodním) a veřejném diskurzu. Hlavní část praktické části diplomové práce bude tvořit analýza diskurzu důchodové reformy v českých veřejnoprávních médiích.Na základě teoretické a empirické části bude vyvozena role veřejnoprávních médií v diskurzu důchodové reformy.

Preliminary scope of work in English

The thesis 'The role of the Czech public media in the pension reform discourse' aims to provide a critical reflection on the role of the Czech Television and the Czech Radio in the debate over the changes in the pension scheme of the Czech Republic. The principal method used for that will be the discourse analysis, which comprises quality and quantity analysis of the media output, interviews and personal observation. The research project will focus on the context the debate over the pension reform occurs and how it is presented in the public media. The theoretical part will summarize the theoretical concepts used in the research project, i.e. concepts from the field of public policy, social policy, mass communication and discourse analysis. The empirical part will examine the institutional development of the pension reform, its variations in political, scholarly (Czech and international) and public discourse. The major part of the research project will be based on the discourse analysis of the pension reform discourse in the Czech public media. The role of the public media in the pension reform discourse will be deduced on the basis of the theoretical and empirical parts.
