When the course guarantor is selected, comments will be displayed regarding his/her teaching performance as well as that of all the other teachers teaching the course. If a teacher who is not the course guarantor is selected, only comments related to his/her teaching will be displayed.
Mgr. Nino Peterek, Ph.D. [32-UFAL], Fundamentals of Speech Recognition and Generation [NPFL038, přednáška]

It's hard to follow the lectures because there is usually no prepared presentation. The lecturer demonstrates textbook materials or draws diagrams on the board. Sometimes these drawings and complex formulas from papers become hard to comprehend unless you are familiar with some basics of the discussed topic. Overall, Mr. Peterek answers students' questions and tries to explain the material, but the whole course would benefit from presentation slides or other media with clear visualization that would connect formulas and sometimes obscure schemes of HMMs drawn during lectures. Importantly, the absence of lecture slides means that students who weren't present in class have no way to see the hand-drawn diagrams.

Požadavky k zápočtu a zkoušku jsem se pořádně dozvěděli až o Vánocích. Přednášející často chodil pozdě. Přednášky samotné byly velice nezáživné a nic jsem si z nich neodnášel. Předmět jsem nedokončil.

It's an awesome dive into HMMs and speech generation/recognition. Mostly comprehensible and usually well-explained. The whole course is pretty inspiring in terms of general waveform signal processing (considering other forms of electric and acoustic data besides sound). Probably it's the closest to the physics course, yet there isn't much about the input/output of the signal - instead, the main focus is on the hidden Markov models and their modifications.
