Cvičící vedl cvičení bohužel jako druhou přednášku. Každé cvičení celou dobu jen ukazoval studentům jak pracuje s nějakým programem, celá náplň každého cvičení neměla moc hlavu a patu, a studenti mohli celou dobu pouze poslouchat a koukat se, místo toho aby skutečně cvičili své dovednosti.

Přednášku i cvičení s panem Pelikánem můžu doporučit. Studijní materiály jsou kvalitní i pro samostudium - je k dispozici hodně grafických znázornění, což pomáhá pochopit trochu složitější matematiku. Velmi oceňuji nahrávky jak z přednášek, tak ze cvičení. Možnost poslechnout si "plný" výklad vícekrát mi velice pomohla při dělání úkolů a přípravě na zkoušku. Přednášky byly zajímavé, pan Pelikán při výkladu často používal zajímavé příklady z praxe.

Prof. Wilkie is one of the best lecturers I've had the privilege of listening to. He combines the erudition of a foremost expert in computer graphics with experience from working all around the world, with the glee and excitement of a five-year-old showing you their favourite toy (and I mean that with utmost respect). With every sentence, you can hear the implied "can you see how cool that is???" and he's one of the few people it is genuinely hard NOT to pay attention to. His English is a delight to listen to and very comfortably understandable.

Jediné co bych mohl vytknout je méně poutavý projev, a (na grafika) celkem ošklivé prezentace, tak to je ale asi tak klasika. Naopak oceňuji výlet do laborky a odbočku k barevnému 3d tisku.

Prof. Wilkie has an incredible enthusiasm for the subject. I would appreciate it if he were a little more structured in his presentations. The fact that he talks quite quickly and/or quietly at times paired with him jumping between topics got me confused a number of times.

The lecturer presented the topics in a very digestible way, and explained them thoroughly and well. The course even included a tour of the colour lab in Trója, which put a lot of the topics into a practical perspective, and helped cement the knowledge.

Cvičení samotná nejsou tak důležitá, pouze se tam zadávají a poté i ukazují domácí úkoly. Chtělo by to cvičení nějak obohatit. Navíc cvičení a hlavně úkoly na nich zadávané nebyly skoro vůbec provázané s přednáškou.

Zbytečné navštěvovat, stačí průběžně kontrolovat github nebo gitlab. Na cvičeních se nedozvíte nic nového a jsou vedeny na rozdíl od přednášek velice nudně a vysávají energii. Systém úkolů je avšak výborný a jeho napojení dál je motivující.

Predmet je opravdu zajimavy a poskytuje vsechny potrebne zakladni znalosti z grafiky. Domaci ulohy jsou zajimave. Behem zkousky zkousi jen to, co bylo probrano behem prednasky a nic navic.

Cvičení bylo založeno na tvorbě vlastního ray-traceru. Pro získání zápočtu bylo potřeba dělat úkoly spojené s tvorbou ray-traceru. Většinou k vypracování úkolů stačily informace probrané na cvičení. Pokud jste měli s úkoly problém, mohli jste zajít na konzultace, na které byl na cvičeních vyhrazený čas (některá cvičení byla čistě pro konzultace). Zadání úkolu byla jasná, často byly k dispozici i referenční výsledky, ke kterým bychom se měli správným postupem dostat.
K úkolům byl vyhrazený orientační deadline, protože i když nejsou úkoly nějak extra těžké, tak zaberou dost času, takže se vyplatí je dělat v průběhu semestru a ne těsně před zkouškovým.
Za úkoly se dostávají body, které se následně přičítají ke zkoušce, takže za splnění více volitelných úkolů (k získání zápočtu je třeba si zvolit libovolné 2) můžete dostat bonusové body ke zkoušce. Zkouška jako taková je orientovaná na praktické znalosti z probrané látky, což je za mě dobře.

The practical assignments and the hands-on approach was really good. I think it could be done in a way that you could cover the whole syllabus in this way, doing incremenetal assigments. The Nori assigments very on the harder side, and I think could be improved to better suit the course syllabus.
One drawback is that, if you miss one, you cannot really do the following ones. So maybe after the deadline, give access to a solution or structure the tasks so that they are more independent.

A very interesting course, which combined most things from Bachelor studies such as Ray Tracing or Monte Carlo. The course goes over sampling methods and deriving them via integration very rigorously (perhaps too much so) before plunging into Monte Carlo in order to explain the mechanisms of Path Tracing.
The second half of the course focused more theoretically on more advanced topics, which very still interseting to hear about, but would require much more time to cover rigorously.

I must say I really loved taking this course, it was definitely one of my favourites from my entire time at MFF. As an introductory course, it doesn't delve too deep into it's subject matter, as most courses here do, but rather covers a wide variety of topics, which makes it stay interesting and genuinely entertaining for most of the semester. At times, the topics may move a bit fast and it feels like a random assortment of cool facts, but I found it coherent enough to follow.
But a word of warning: After taking this course, you will see the world differently and you will become the life of any party with such insightful comments as "Have you seen the lights in here? They must have a very spiky spectrum, look at that guys sweater, you can really see the metameric effect here." or "What do you mean you don't know which ICC profile you used when you printed that photo? Don't you see how washed out those colours are??"

Několik částí bylo zajímavých, většina mi však přišla rozmázlá tak do šířky, až to o ničem nebylo. Jestli vás zajímá teoretický pohled na barvy a barevné prostory, tak to šlo. Dá se zapsat i v druháku spolu s základy pc grafiky. Zkouška není těžká.
