The teacher is extremely good and is always willing to stop the presentation of the proof if there are any questions and to explain things in greater detail when he sees that some of the students are not following everything. One sliight objection is that the material on the website lacks pictures and it takes some time to read it through, but it is manageable (especially since he presents all of it in the lecture). The professor is also more than willing to help and organize office hours, which really gets rid of the need for pictures in the materials as he is ready to explain the proofs from zero. Overall, the clique number of every induced subgraph was equal to its chromatic number :D.

Protože látka byla dost těžká a tempo přednášky svižné, hodně věcí jsem se pořádně naučil až během zkouškového z lecture notes na webu profesora Dvořáka. Ocenil bych, kdyby u vět v přednášce zmínil, kde je v lecture notes najdeme (který dokument, kolikátá věta). Určitě by také studentům pomohlo, kdyby existoval soubor, kde jsou všechny lecture notes spojené a věty ideálně číslované globálně. Během přípavy na zkoušku jsem strávil spoustu času propojováním svých poznámek a odpovídajících míst v lecture notes.

Pan profesor umí velmi dobře vše vysvětlit, výklad je příjemný a je zajímavý. Jediná výtka, která mne napadá je překreslování obrázků, je tedy obtížné udržovat kvalitní poznámky, ale je to pochopitelné, vzhledem k sylabu předmětu.

This was one of the best courses I have ever taken :). Mostly due to the fact that I was already a big fan of graph colorings, but the other half of it is the excellence of the teacher - he is one of the main researchers in the area and you can see how much he loves the subject and he teaches it with great enthusiasm. I have thoroughly enjoyed both going to the lectures and preparing for the exam as the topics covered are really beautiful. And I must say that I was extremely happy and excited that we covered the proof of the four-color theorem (the proof of Kneser's conjecture, though, is my favourite). I only have one objection, and it is in fact a rather big one - there is no Coloring of graphs 2! :)

Předmět je velmi zajímavý. Jediná věc, která by předmětu mohla pomoci jsou skripta, které lépe odpovídají tomu, co se na přednášce učí. Nicméně, existují výukové materiály, ve kterých lze s trochou sil najít většinu věcí.
