| The work will deal with Oscar Wilde's perception of the upper class, the ways which Wilde uses to portray this social milieu and its typical features in his selected works. A special focus will be put on the writer's philosophy of Aestheticism and Decadence. It will also contain an analysis of Wilde's conception of morality and immorality, mainly in The Picture of Dorian Gray. Other works which the thesis will discuss are The Importance of Being Earnest, An Ideal Husband and Lady Windermere's Fan. |
