| Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT) belongs to the most commonly used standardized tests for fine motor skills. The goal of the research study is to find out how the results of healthy women aged 20-24 years in the PPT differ depending on the laterality of the research participants and the version of manual. In the research 60 healthy women were tested. The research participants were divided separately into control and experimental groups and then into right-handed and left-handed groups. The women were tested with the Czech extended version of the manual for the Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT): Model 32020A. Right-handed women from experimental group were tested by version for left handed subjects. Similarly, the left-handers from experimental group were tested. According to the t-test and the level of significance (α<0,05), right-handed women in the control group and right-handed women in the experimental group differed significantly from each other in the completion subtest in all attempts, p-value ranged from 0,036 to 0,0035. For six comparisons, the p-value was found in the range of 0,095 to 0,068 and the result was close to the level of significance. No significant difference was found for most of the results. The results suggest that right-handers do not differ from left-handers in manual dexterity, and the used version of the PPT manual does not affect the final result of most PPT subtests in women aged 20-24 years. |
