Traits and arrangement of inflorescences have a direct influence on the reproductive success of plants by influencing the behavior of pollinators (eg the number of flowers visited in the inflorescence, foraging within it and the length of flights between inflorescences). Such traits of inflorescences important for pollination include the number of flowers in the inflorescence and the speed of their ontogenesis, spatial arrangement of flowers and their distance, changes in the number and quality of rewards between flowers in the inflorescence and during the ontogenesis or functional specialization of flowers within the inflorescence. Aim of the thesis proposed here will be literature review summarizing the existing knowledge about the functional traits of inflorescences and their influence on the behavior of the majority of pollinators in relation to plant reproduction.
